Meeting Summary - 8.15.2008

Northwest GEN enjoyed an evening amidst the trees of Yep Kanum park in Colville, WA. Between frisbee, barbecuing, and political discussions, we managed to all-but-forget how hot it was. A little breeze would have gone a long way.

John Smith gave an overview of the organization for newcomers, and then we opened the floor to discuss alternative venues for the next meetings. It was unanimously decided that we next meet at Evans Camp Ground at 6:00pm on September the 19th (see the events section at right):

We also discussed the possibility of doing a GeoCaching event. Watch the Google Group for more details.

Further items of business were:

  • Gabriel Cruden gave a status report on the formation of a Community Foundation (a local granting organization)
  • Bill Danekas Jr. gave a brief report on our first scheduled service project (painting the Colville "C")
  • Sue Lani Madsen (GOP) gave a brief talk on her goals and focus as a candidate for the position of Washington State representative.

We then joined in a rousing game of volleyball that increased in tenacity as the temperature lessened for the evening.
